I need brush advice.

I am looking at buying a simpson duke 2 or Duke 3, but leaning towards the Duke 2. I read that the knot dia. of the duke 2 is 21 mm. My concern is how small the brush is. I know it is densely packed and that may make it seem a bit bigger. The smallest brush I have is a Semogue 830, which i love and has a knot dia. of 22 mm and a similar loft to duke 2. I'm worried about going to a knot size that is smaller than 22mm.

So here are my questions...any help would be appreciated:

1. How much smaller will the duke 2 be in comparison to the semogue 830? Wil it feel/look basically the same?

2. Does the duke 2 have more backbone than the semogue 830?

Have a look at the brush chronicles. It covers the Duke 2. From what i read, you will not be disppointed.

I have been contemplating whether or not to buy a Duke 2 as well. I have read the brush chronicles and you would not be disappointed from the sounds of it. I am on the fence more because I bowl lather most of the time. I think if you face lather, the Duke 2 is no brainer...IMHO!
