I made Van Der Brisk..

I'm not sure I put enough "Brisk" in there. We'll have to see tomorrow morning after I get a chance to lather up!

I'm already planning my next "mix" - I have all these Trufitt & Hill and Floris samples.. Van Der Vetiver? Van Der Falgar? Van Der Grafton? Van Der Santal?

I put in what I thought to be quite a bit of Vi-John Spice while melting 2 pucks of VDH Deluxe into a mug, but it doesn't smell like anything changed.

I plan on taking my last puck of the stuff and turning it into Van Der Brut.

I don't think I'll ever use it, as I'm not a big fan of soap or scent, but it would make a great name for a metal band.

speaking of bands, there is an English prog rock band called Van der Graaf Generator. I think I just answered my question as to what mix to try next..

You have to add the fragrant ingredients as the melted soap is cooling down; if you add the stuff while the liquid soap is quite hot, the oils that carry the nice scent will be evaporated off the soap.

Thanks for the tip. Luckily, the soap and aftershave are cheap. However if I use a Grafton sample, I don't want to waste it..

Thanks, kingfisher. I'll have to try it again, and add more glycerin, too. And put it in a shorter mug so I'm not waking up SWMBO at 7AM getting my brush-load-clanking on.
