What's new

I love Papa Johns.

So I place my regular order for me and the wife (she's a veggie) of a large half canadian bacon and pineapples and half three cheese blend and they messed it up... again... It's the second time in a row they skimp on my toppings (I didnt bring it up the first time.) So I told the manager about this and as I was about to walk out, he tells me if I have a few minutes he'll cook up another pie and I'd even get to keep this one, I said no problem and waited. The wait was a little longer than usual but then he calls me up and says here you go sir, and hands 3 pies... the one they messed up, a second one that was regular cut and then the perfect one with my regular Chicago cut.

I wonder how much does it cost Papa Johns to make one large pizza as they're always basically giving away their pies. There's a coupon called "Rangers7" (every time the Rangers score 7 runs -home or away- your order is 50% off and just last week I got a code through email for a FREE pizza, I thought it was some scam but it looked legit and sure enough, it was part of their 2nd "2 million pizza giveaway during the football season." I had to come up with the hefty sum of $1.35 out of pocket for the toppings.

Awesome...the Mrs. and I love Papa Johns. Not far away and only in the D.C. area, Papa Johns has a sponsorship deal with not just the Nats but the Redskins, Caps, and Wizards. For the Redskins (who are right now winning 21 - 19 against Tampa Bay in the 4th QTR), the deal is called "Touchdowns for Toppings", meaning that for every TD scored, customers would get a free topping—and a win will get you double the toppings.

That's a cool deal too...

..and BTW, I also see Tampa Bay driving down and their FG kicker warming up... oooh, wait, I think I just saw Josh Freeman throwing a dagger... sorry count, no double toppings tonight.

JetsMets#1fan... Do you live in NY? Because in NY we excommunicate folks if they eat Pizza from Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Dominos... or if they go near the Chicago deep dish bread with crap on top of it. :biggrin1:

Why would anyone want thin pizza when they can get thick? With thick there is MORE for the same diameter pie. More is more is better, when it comes to pizza. Thin is for people who can't handle thick. Crispy can't be folded! Come on... folding a slice in half is THE way to eat pizza! New York style? Really! Everybody knows folks can't cook up there!

I do like Papa John's better than Dominos, though Dominos had improved in the last year or two. I have the Papa John's app on my iphone. Prices are pretty reasonable and the specials are great deals. I always get my order just the way I ordered, and even though delivery is a little complicated, I always get my pie in a timely manner. Actually one of their drivers usually jumps on any delivery to my marina and she knows everybody's boat. (I live on my sailboat.) Plus she is a lot cuter and friendlier than the Domino's drivers, who are mostly male, anyway. I think Papa John's has a lot more chicks driving, and they are mostly very easy on the eyes. Pizza Hut doesn't deliver to my area. The independants mostly only deliver in the CBD, the Quarter, or mid-city, and they are pricier with pizza that is hit or miss on the quality. PJ's is very consistent, in my experience.

Out of the 3 big guys papa johns is the best, Pizza Hut is just straight up nasty to me and Dominos is just ok at best, I haven't had neither in years though.

+1,000,000. When I lived on Staten Island we ordered Papa Johns for some strange reason and they never showed. They said we lived too far..LOL. I was glad because we had 3 or 4 great places within 2 mins from the house. I don't know what I was thinking.

Where are those pies from? I lived in NYC for a couple of years recently, and it ruined me for other pizza forever. I worked walking distance from Joe's on Carmine and John's on Bleecker. I'm back home in Chicago now, but my friends here just can't seem to understand why I don't worship at the altar of Lou Malnati's.

The pies are from my oven Nick. I agree, NYC pizza has it hands down.

I love me some Papa John's...but given the choice between that or Denino's...its not really a choice.

Thank you for putting this thread in the barber shop, since Papa John's doesn't qualify for the mess hall.
