I just had one of those shaves that was doomed from the start.
I shave my head in the shower with disposables..(i know) well I had to get more razors for this last night so I stopped at wallmart to get some and they had some cheapo ones for like 2 bucks for 12. How bad can it be? so I use oil on my head in the shower and FIRST PASS of the razor i damn near scalped myself. I have never as much as nicked my head while shaving. well I am pretty sure this was a bad one since blood was running down my face.. I should of just stopped and said screw it.. NOPE... not me.. finish shaving my head with one or two more nicks... got out of the shower and threw those away...
On to face shaving.. Decided to use bay rum cream from classic shaving and my first run with a rudy vey handle with a 22mm knot in finest from the golden nib. Now this is my favorite brush now and just did a great job lathering.. Strop the Straight and start shaving.. I think I need to have it re honed but it is not to bad, face goes ok, but as soon as I get to my neck oops more blood... not to bad but not to good.. keep going... to the lip... CRAP. again? I might need a transfusion after this shave...
everything went smooth after that but I think I was just out of my routine and my worst shave yet... that being said, it is still a very nice shave just not the relaxing time that I am used to...
