I got me some Veg

After hearing so much about it, I finally got me a bottle of The Veg - it's hard to come by here in the UK, but I found an Amazon supplier offering the large 370ml (12.5 oz) bottles for a reasonable price.

It arrived today, and I haven't had a shave yet, but I've splashed some on my arm, and...

It smells great! I get lilac and green grassy vegetation, with a very nice powdery dry down. The longevity seems to be just about right too - it lasts a good time but without hanging round too long. I really don't know how people get cat pee and urinals from it - I don't get anything nasty like that at all.

I'll use it when I shave later, but so far I appear to have been chosen.

Yep, that grassy, earthy vegetation smell is what makes this stuff tops in my book.

Congrats on being chosen!!

Just used it after a shave, and it confirms my first impressions...

A generous splash on my face, and I get a burst of flowery green grassy freshness, with perhaps a hint of a slightly medicinal soapiness. And it has just about the right amount of alcohol for me - it gives me a nice glow without too much sting.

As it dries down, the greenness subsides and the lilac remains, and eventually it fades down to a nice powdery scent.

Without trying it, I think the thing that puts people off is the Lilac. Lilac is a strange scent. If it's faint, it's pleasant. However, if it's strong, it's really pungent. Found this out the hard way using a room air freshener from Bath and Body Works. It was a Lilac formula. Room was small. As you entered it was pleasant. The close you got to the air freshener, the mover overpowering and bitter/pungent it became.

I was hoping for a PIF to try this stuff but it looks like I have no takers. Going to bite the bullet and try a bottle.

That could well be it - with different people's sweet/pungent thresholds being different. To me the lilac scent seems gentle - and I keep going back to sniff the bottle!

I would have been happy to send you a sample if we were in the same country.

I love it, its my favorite, and it is a scent that I doubt many other 'commoners' would consider manly, but to us....we know its manly!

I got a small sample of the Veg from Otto a couple of weeks ago. Not my favorite, but not bad either. It was good enough for me to buy a full bottle of the stuff. Not sure if I'm one of the Chosen, but I now know I'm at least not one of the Rejected.
