I am disappointed in Savon de Marseille

It was my 1st try of this soap and I was trying to put together a spa experience for my wife as part of an introduction to DE shaving.

I bought 2 bars with crushed local flowers.

1) Pure Lavender
2) Orange Blossom

The lavender was out of stock so all I got was the Orange Blossom.

I was very disappointed when I first tried the Orange Blossom.
The soap has virtually no fragrance at all and I guess I mis-understood what "with crushed local flowers" means.

There are little bits of what seem to be dried flowers embedded in the block.

I guess these soaps are meant to be used as lathering a sponge/cloth/loofa, then wash.
Well, I like to lather my body as well and the dried flowers are very abrasive, kind of like I remember what a bar of Lava hand soap felt like.

Some time ago I bought some Aleppo soap with jasmine essential oil, and another with lemon essential oil. The smell was awful, much worse than the rancid scent of pure Aleppo soap.

Though my disappointment was with the product, I can give an unqualified recommendation to the merchant.

She was kind enough to refund me the price of the soap and also is sending me a soap that sounds like it will be wonderful.
