Hyrdogen Peroxide

I have a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide here at home. Is it detrimental to soak razor heads in it like you would in alcohol? I have the bottle sitting around and wondered if I could use the stuff to clean my old Gillettes (Super Speed, Tech etc).

Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizer, and can speed up corrosion on some metals. It will also react violently with silver, which is how most "jetpacks" you see people flying around with are powered. It's also usually 97% water, so I would be wary about using it to clean old razors.

That's right. It is even used as a rocket fuel oxidizer. Don't soak your razors in that stuff, especially straights but also I would think DEs.

I use it to clean razors and other things. Some people use it on their teeth. The weak concentration sold in drugstores is mild. Use it for a few minutes, to kill bacteria. I would not soak anything in it for hours, though. There would be no point to that.

Hydrogen Peroxide is a very common ingredient of commercially available Mouthwash and Toothpaste.
I've never heard of anyone who had silver dental work bouncing off the bathroom walls as a result of this deadly interaction.

There are much more effective sanitizers available however, which work quickly and efficiently to kill a wider spectrum of potential "cooties".
