The Ana's humming birds here in Southern California never leave.
I remember well (I spent 10 years in Socal!)
my favorite birds are Cardinals and various species of woodpeckers (Downy, red-bellied and even a Pilated mated pair that occasionally show up mostly) fortunately I have them year round in PA - and they love my feeders to boot... the woodpeckers are suckers for chunky peanut butter mixed with shelled sunflower seeds that I spread on the trees - if the squirrels don't hog it all up first.
