What's new

Buyers beware personal bad story.

Wife got pop up ad on Facebook for Swiss Birdhouse. Price was 40 USD, appreared to be copper, and brazed assembly. She order, and few day later get tracking.

Package get to US Customs in St. Paul Minnesota, and never moves.

After two weeks plus she get USPS Tracking Number, showing package is on way again, RED FLAG IS ORIGIN IS CHINA.

Yesterday small box arrives from China, Box is size is maybe 2.5” x 4” x 1.5”. Inside is Bird house, so small a Humming Bird could not enter.

Credit Card guy says most buyer eat mistakes, that is reason these crook keep victimizing people.

That would make a great blade bank with a little modification.

Well it would be expensive Blade Bank. As of now we are sitting on the Mini-Bird House it if seller requests return, and sends pre paid postage label requesting return. Funny thing is the seller has change company name, as wife saw another Pop Up Ad for same item on Facebook a while ago. Apparently so did others who also talked about the bait n switch ads, assume a few made purchase and were disappointed.

Did the original sales advertisement give the details on materials and dimensions?

No but photos were not what was sent. Let say when you buy thing on line you got to do research.

Two kind of sellers.

Honest that do thing right.

Crooks looking for fish.

Sold & bought thing off eBay for years, only had one bad expierence.

Sorry about that, too bad the credit card company does not assist!

I recently bought some nail-clippers from China. (I did not know it was coming from China.) I wanted to return them but the postage to China would not be worth it. I will never buy anything if I know it's coming from China.

If the ads say "Swedish", "Swiss", "French", etc. then watch out!

:eek2:

I still have my genuine Omega wristwatch I bought at the Shanghai night market for a few bucks as a souvenir. I think some of the dial markers fell off on the plane trip home.

I was shipped a complete razor from a well known here Chinese company.... It was an adjustable... a copy of the Merkur Futur. I had ordered a SS razor head.... They wanted me to ship back the razor to them at my expense.... I told them this wasn't worth it to me as it was their mistake. I got a few threatening emails, but they did eventually send me the razor head I'd ordered.... I gave away the razor during one of my razor sales.. buy one and choose an additional one for free. I didn't feel comfortable making a profit from their mistake but I wasn't about to pay the shipping costs back to China, that's for sure.

I had a coworker tell me about a 25mm lens for my Micro four thirds camera with great specs for $75 on the lens company’s website. I gave it a close look and the website looked legit. I read some reviews of this ridiculously cheap lens and watched a couple of YouTubes. Took the gamble. Only after getting my tracking did I realize the lens was coming directly from China. It was one of those speedpak trackings. So I knew. Had a bit of worry. Lens came in a few days, and takes great pics. So sometimes it works out! And sometimes it doesn’t.
