How was the shave?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to try a very unscientific statistics experiment. I would like to see if we can get this poll to resemble a bell curve.

I doubt it will resemble a bell curve. Most of the regulars here consistently get excellent shaves, so that will "skew" the results you are looking for.

If you had asked me that question years ago I would have said horrible. But now with my technique down, almost every shave is excellent. In fact, I don't remember when I had a bad shave - but then again, at my age I don't remember where I put my car keys or eyeglasses!

I'd rate today's shave as 85%. Yesterday's was awful for some reason, barely 50% acceptable.

Of course, that's by my current standards. The same shaves a year ago would have sent me into raptures of joy!

Haha, you picked the right day for me. My shave went so well it felt like I was cheating somehow. Could have stopped after the first pass but did three anyway.

Used MWF, Omega 31064 (3rd use!), and Merkur Futur. Lather seemed a bit watery and I couldn't beat all the bubbles out of it, but the shave went perfect anyway.

I think the bigger question, is how picky are we today? I think the number of individual hairs that can be felt against the grain keeping me from a BBS was under 30, with no nicks or irritation. That's a #3 in my books.

I'm sure my standards aren't all that high compared to others around here either.

I put 80% of excellent but I'm grading on a curve. If I were to compare my worst shave now to the best shave I used to get with my Braun electric, it would be incomparably better.

Schick G1 injector+teflon coated blade+can of barbasol=Excellent shave in about 6 minutes.
