What's new

How old is your current Alum bar?

I have the Razorock alum stick. I've been using it after every shave since February 2012. It looks like it has hardly been used. I don't know when it'll quit.

12 March 2013, says my eBay purchase history. Bought three, PIF'd two to my da' and granda'. Used mine every shave since it arrived and can't see any discernible change in size.
3 and half months old and looks the same as when it arrived.

I have had my Shavex for about a year. I would say it has at least 50% of it left. I did drop it once so two of the corners are missing.

Since January 2012. I only use it occasionally, but it looks exactly the same as it did the day I purchased it, except for the fact I dropped it and now I have two "smaller" alum blocks.

:straight:

IIRC started this Osma Bloc full size (100gr) sometime in January 2012. Used it almost every day:

Alum is a MUST for me - I have a Shavex block I bought in Jan 2012, dropped it and split in half but still about 75% there. I bought a QED Cube 3.1 ounce as backup heading into 2013 Sabbatical (against more breakage) and about 95% there. So other than breakage I should be set into 2014 Sabbatical :001_rolle

My bars always lasted until I dropped it and it broke into little pieces. I now use the Razorock stick, which is easier to hold onto when wet (at least for me). My last one wore down to the handle in about a year with every day use.

My $1.99 'Hero Shave' alum from an Indian grocer bit the dust, er, crumbled into dust last week. Almost a year. It served me well! I miss having it around.:crying:

Bought one 70g Alum block in early April 2013. Just weighed it at 67g. Dry it off after use and keep it out of a pool of water, and it lasts a long, long time.
