This whole wet shave thingie is nothing but a fancy front for OCD.

I have 16 razors, 7 soaps, 3 razor blades, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Will it ever end? (Beats being a crackhead I suppose.)

Kent/Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap
Tabac Shave Soap

JM Fraser's shaving cream

At one time I had 16 but know I just have what works best for me .

I have three soaps that I use regularly:

VDH Deluxe

VDH Select Frankensoap (has AOS unscented cream and some Penhaligon's Endymion EDC mixed into it)

TGQ Savon de Compagne (my choice this morning)

All three provide a nice, comfortable shave. Depends totally on my mood.

My Tabac puck ended today. It had been my only soap for 7 months it lasted. I shaved a few times with creams too in that period. I admit I load my brush propably more heavy with soap than is really needed, but Tabac Original shave soap is cheap.

So I scraped the leftovers from the the bottom and put them in another bowl for the twisted boar brush bowl lathering purposes. I only lather on the face with my badgers that i almost always use.

And did put a new soap refill on the empty Tabac bowl.

All of my soaps and creams might be "put away for an extended period of time" according to some people, but that is due in part to how I use them. I'll grab a soap and use for a few consecutive days, then move on to different one. But sometimes I'll grab another on a whim and shave with it today only.

I guess I'm heading for shop status.

I'm with you, Jon. Rather frightening when I started counting...! Out of the dozens of soaps I have the only that I don't use - a C&E sandalwood; a Palmolive stick - but I'm gonna get after that sooner or later - and I really don't like the scent of Provence Sante.

But I do use the rest - some more than others... of course.

I am embarrassed by my SSAD.

...Don't want to talk about SC.

...Or aftershaves.

Somehow I need to make a list to know for sure...

Soaps

Pre de Provence...hands down favorite, scent and lather perfection
Williams...second place, quality lather, old time scent
TABAC...to new to rank, great lather though
VDH deluxe...nice stuff, unlikely to replace Williams in the el-cheapo category
Col Conk Lime...decent, unlikely to reorder any though
Susie's Green Tea...nice, still evaluating
Arko....still untested due to weird odour
Speik....should arrive anyday

Creams

TOBS---samples, Mr Taylor, St. James, Avocado....all great lather producers, light scents, I can see a tub of TOBS in my future
TOM's Mint...refreshing, volumes of lather, too bad it is discountinued.
Clubman...superlather, good odour, mildly refreshing
Aubrey Organics Northwoods....odd stuff, but slick

Damn I think I voted for 6...off my 50%

I'm going to have to go with "I own a shop". I don't have a specific rotation, but I pick my soap or cream from a very large number every day.

After 2+ years of wet shaving I am still thoroughly enjoying the variety in soaps, blades, and razors. I have at least a dozen soaps/creams in my active rotation.

10 if I'm not mistaken. Plus a few creams. Then there are about 20 samples (mostly creams) that pop in there every once in a while. I usually use one product only 1-2 days in a row.

MWF
Tabac
QED B&B Sandalwood
QED B&B Sandalwood & Rose
Floris Elite
Pre de Provence
AOS Sandalwood
T&H
Pens BB
DRH Arlington
DRH Marlborough

It all depends on your definition of rotation. I try to use all my soaps and creams, but a rotation is over two months, and some soaps and creams do get more love than others.
