Derby man eh? I've used a lot of those. Currently using Astra SP. I've gotten 5 shaves out of one but it's pushing things-prefer to change blades after 3 shaves.

I think that's awesome Jason! Reading your reply sounds so nonchalant! I personally use my blades 3-4 times if they're DE blades, and 6 times if it's an SE blade.

Because he can! It's personal preference and YMMV. Some folks prefer to use them once and toss because of the low-cost of blades, others swear by the fact that a blade gets better on the second or third shave. I myself just want to get more bang for my buck and prefer to do minimum 3 shaves because then a 100 pack will last me a full year. And because I can, LOL !

I can't even get one shave from a Derby blade. That is the worst blade that i have tried so far. They pull and tear my face to shreds. Red personna blades seem to be working well for me and I can get 3 to 4 shaves from them on a blade.

I have been using Kai stainless blades. Averaging 4-5 shaves per blade. My beard is not very dense.

I use Astra SP and Feather. I get 5 comfortable shaves (M-F) out of both. If I had to shave on the weekend I might be able to squeeze a 6th shave out of a blade, but I'd likely just change it as it costs next to nothing.

Seems for me that most blades I have tried are 3 shaves.

I try to get a week. Sometimes get less and sometimes I get more. Useing Derby and Astras. Seems to me that the Feathers are the blades I get the least shaves from. I really dont count how many times I have used a blade I just change it when it starts to pull too much or not shave closly.

Get a sampler. Try the options and use what works best for you using the blades whatever number of times works for you.

Generally about three regardless of brand.

Mind you, I like changing blades - it fills me with that optimistic fresh start feeling most get only at the New Year! I also admit that I never feel guilty about letting a blade go - it is still cheaper than cartridges and more fun too.
