HOW does your significant other feel about your hobby and B&B?

Hi Gents: I hope all is well with you and your families. How does your significant other, SWMBO, LOTH feel about your hobby and your time spent on B&B?

I'll start. My SWMBO is great. She supports my hobby and is just happy to see me enjoy my new found love. She also knows that B&B is a great community filled with many quality members and does not see anything wrong with my time spent here. She also said that atleast I am home and that I can be doing something worse.

So... how 'bout you? How does your significant other, SWMBO, LOTH feel about your hobby and your time spent on B&B. What's your story?

Fortunately, when my LOTH and I met I was already a wet-shaver...having the brush, cup and soap on display in the bathroom. However, since I've joined B&B it's been pkg. after pkg. with straights, DE's, brushes, soaps, creams, blades, AS's...you get it.

Now? She just laughs.

I've picked up many hobbies over the years and SWMBO figured wet-shaving was just another transient obsession. She was wrong on this one though. She no longer frowns at the multiple packages that arrive at our doorstep periodically ... she did once comment 'how many razors do you need?' I still try and sneak away packages that arrive unbeknownst to her - I call those 'freebies' and order more stuff! In the big scheme of things, she realizes this is a harmless pursuit overall - there are more expensive and potentially dangerous indulgences I could be obsessed with.

Overall, not too bad. Depends on what I'm using on a particular day. Seems like my hobby/obsession bothers her more when I use classic/barbershop scented products (e.g. TOBS SW). On the other hand, when I use some of the lighter scented soaps and ASBs (e.g. 1805, Pens BB, and RR Don Marco), I become her favorite person all of a sudden and shaving-related spending issues magically disappear!

My wife first thought I was slightly crazy and couldn't understand what all the hubbub could be about shaving stuff. Then she tried a DE. Then we bought her her first DE. Now she helps me scout for stuff when we're out at antique malls or estate sales, and she even came with me to the DFW B&B get together on Saturday. And she had as much fun as the rest of us weirdos smelling soap on the middle of a restaurant. Yeah, I know, I'm one of the lucky ones that got a phenomenal woman to share life with!

Super supportive! A real sweetheart, tries to understand why I enjoy it and she appreciates my perspective. I'm very lucky to have her and also the B&B community

she does not know about the straights yet.
but i also know when I am ahead and hence my desperate attempts at restraint.
