How does one indetify STAR razors?

I just bought these a couple days ago. I shaved with the one on the top this morning and got a fairly decent shave! $IMG_0355.jpg I am curious about the dates on these and any other info. Could someone share a link to a website or another posting that would help me learn more about my razors and identify the year and model #s?

The one on top looks like the Star version of the Gem Junior Bar razor. Well regarded around here. Wait's compendium has tons of information, but it's probably not something you would want just to identify a couple of razors.

The bottom STAR is most-likely mid teens (20th Cent). I'm not certain of the date when Kampfe stopped producing the stamped handles with the imbossed star grip.

Sorry about the low quality of the pic above. I used an I-pod to take it. I'll add some better pics of each razor later. I have a 10-year-old son and for some reason, I can't seem to find the camera!

Based on the handle, I would say skarkowtsky is right about the date of the bottom one.
It's hard to tell for sure. The backs of them are the most telling. Wait's has the designs on the back cataloged pretty well.

There are a total of 15 Kampfe/Star models in 27 variations plus two in sterling silver. These are much later models when Gillette kind of took over. Wooden handles and round tins are the early coveted models. The rear engravings are the only way to really identify rarity and model. Basically the earliest models have nothing engraved on the back, blank similar to the patent drawing you can find online, and will come with a wooden handle. The next generation had a variety of rear engravings with a flat back and thin long skinny handles. The later models have hinge backs and are fairly common. There is a rare Hazelcorn Price guide to these that shows up on ebay on a rare occasion that has lots of info no comparison to Waits. Yours are late models near the end of the line. The star logo one probably does not even say Kampfe so it is much newer even though no hinge back similar to the gem junior. The rake on the bottom one is the double tong, two tongs next to each other also indicative of a later model. Great razors, here are two of my later model stars and the kit on the right is an earlier made Kampfe set.

I like the picture of your razors shavefreak! Like they were photographed at a portrait studio. Velvet theatre curtain.

The Kampfe set on the right I am most proud of, it is in insane shape for over 100 years old with all the days of the week lettering on the velvet insert in perfect condition. I have not seen a set this nice though I am sure there are some just as nice out there and I got it for a steal. All these sets were super underpriced for the conditon they are in which makes it that much sweeter but my early Kampfe razors and tins are my true favorites.
