How do you use the Dirty Bird Scuttle?

Hey guys,

I just got my DB scuttle in (Thanks Julie!) but am unsure how most of you use it.

Do you make the lather in the small insert with it inside the larger bowl, and just hold both with one hand? Or do you take it out, make the lather, then put it in?

Silly question, I know.

Thanks!

It's not a silly question. Is yours the brush scuttle (no handle), the shaving scuttle (has a handle) or one of those monster custom huge scuttles? I had the brush scuttle, so I made lather in a bowl and parked the brush in the scuttle to warm the lather that's in the brush. If it's a big scuttle, you can make the lather in the top part of the scuttle after you've filled the bottom with hot water. A small electric kettle is the most efficient option or microwave the water in the scuttle. I'm pretty sure DB scuttles are microwave safe, but maybe ask Julie about that to make sure.

Hope that helps, and welcome to B&B!

It's the one here, the first review. the large one with the inner bowl.

That's the one I had. Make your lather in a bowl then park your brush in the inner bowl to warm after you've loaded it with lather. The larger, outer bowl holds the hot water. One other note: If you get the scuttle too hot, it can kill some lather, depending on which cream/soap you use.
