Working with my agent at Horween the past few months and I was able to get some really nice hand picked veg tanned horse butts for my strops.
Nice satin/eggshell finish, not slick but a light, semi-fast draw. Most are a beautiful mottled / quilted pattern and average around 7-8oz in thickness. A nice firm surface temper but not too stiff.
Available as single leather only, or with either my new firm, fine weave cotton, organic sift hemp or a herringbone weave flax linen and as usual, D-rings or 3-ply handles. There will be some "Plain / Utility" grade strops and maybe some Roughout/Russian texture too from time-to-time whenever an Artisan grade just does not measure up to what I expect.
