Honing violation...

I was watching 'Rambo - First Blood' on and off last night (don't ask me why...). A cop had Rambo in a reverse neck hold while another cop had a straight in his hand, approaching to shave him under duress. That guy was using a hone with a stropping motion!!...while lifting the spine!!! Shocking!

Hence the title of the movie.....

 The mods have to stop doing this. They can’t just arrest any guy who has a bit of stubble and then drag him into the B&B headquarters where they forcibly try to shave him.
I knew my contributions would help to put more mods out on the streets, but I was hoping they could enforce shaving laws without violating stubble rights.

It's still better overall technique then what Sweeney Todd showed & he was after all supposed to be a barber

Apparently, they were going to shave him dry just for spite. I think that's what caused him to go ballistic.

Yep.

Imagine what had happened if they just had put some TABAC on him first.

Then he would've enjoyed that shave so much, that he had completely forgot to be angry & instead spent his time wandering the streets, looking for the perfect shave.

Rambo - First BBS

Anyone notice that it's a young Horatio Cane from CIS Miami in the middle?

Nice scything motion from the asian fella that was trying to shave his chest though.

I never expect for movies to be technically correct. It used to bother me, but now I just ignore the stupidity. This only one of many common errors and far from the most egregious.

You can hone using stropping strokes. I've had some junkers I needed to lift the spine on to get it to start taking a bevel.

I've found that because of my profession I often notice things in movies that bother me. any time someone is acting like they're working on their car or when you can clearly tell the bullets in the belt fed machine gun are blanks because the ends are pinched together, stuff like that. My wife is a munitions NCO and likes to point out when fighter jets have dummy missiles and what not. to those who know, things like this are obvious.
I was recently watching Boardwalk Empire and while it is a pretty good show there was a pretty bad straight shave scene in it as well. probably would have never noticed had it not been for my somewhat recent dive into this world.
