Holy Replates!

Just received a bunch of razors I had replated from Krona and mixed them up with some others I had replated from another party. Impressed with the work, becoming scared for myself though with the size of my collection.

That is the way to go these days. Buy a clunker, take it to a local platter in your area that does auto and marine parts in addition to antique restores and religious items and you have a nice piece at a low price. Ask any local antique shop or antique news letter in your area.

Thanks a bunch! Four of those are rhodium (I cannot tell any difference between it and Krona's nickel) The rest are Krona. He doesn't post his prices online, but he's quick to reply to inquiries. I last saw restoredrazors.com asking $39 for nickel.

In artificial light there isn't a huge difference between new Bright Nickel and Rhodium. In natural light, Rhodium looks whiter. After a time, the difference becomes more apparent as Rhodium stays bright white, whereas Bright Nickel turns to a yellower shade through time.

Lovely razor collection and no Zamak (zinc alloy) in sight :)
