Hold Fast arrived

I just received my order of Hold Fast Bay Rum from Jeremiah at Soapbox Gypsy. It is pleasing to the eye, an old fashioned corked bottle and the color is amber. I removed the cork and sniffed, it has a spicy cinnamon scent. Not sure what it will do when applied, and I'm wearing the Captain's CO9 tails. I will follow up, but so far it looks like I have found another Bay Rum to add to my stable.

It is similar to CO9 tails. A little more cinnamon. But that's in the bottle. I'll let you know how it is on tomorrow.

Oddly enough, I ordered some of this a couple of weeks ago. Tried it a few times. We're discussing scent perceptions, so YMWillDefinitelyV. I personally find it less clovey than Clubman, which I find less clovey than Suavecito. No other really clovey types on hand to compare to (I prefer the lighter bay rums). As seems to be true of most lighter end bay rums, very little staying power. Overall, not bad but won't be buying another.

I'm such a sucker for reviews like this... especially about Bay Rum so, guess what I just did?

I am disappointed in the staying power. It just doesn't last long. But it does soothe the face. I'm glad I got it, but will have to think hard on getting another. Maybe by then they will make it last longer.
