Hey Lawyers... Do you have a "power scent"

Just wondering if lawyers or other people who need to make an "impact" have a "power scent?"

When I go to court I make sure my suit is ironed, and my shoes are shined. I have my "power watch" on too. Since "discovering" colognes, I've noticed that a "power scent" makes me feel great. I doubt it impresses anyone else but me, but I'm liking it. :thumbup1:

So today..... Dunhill Edition or something from Penhaligon's or Czech and Speake will be my power scent. I've fallen in love with #88 and Extract of Limes.... and still have Opus 1870 to try. Maybe it will be Blenheim Bouquet or Castile? So many choices!

I just got a sample vial of BB yesterday, and will wear it later today, but it seems like it'd be great for meetings with opposing counsel. It sort of says "screw you, I'm a forest."

I've taken to BB as my "power scent" of late. I wore it to court yesterday. Today, I decided I'd go with Tribute Attar by Amouage. After all, representing a creditor in bankruptcy court calls for a richly decadent scent, right?

My kryptonite watch trumps you power watch so looks like I'll win...Sorry.:w00t:

I smell your defeat.

The B&B scent sounds like a good recomendation.!

I went to law school for a semester long ago so I consider myself a lawyer:lol: but joking aside Knize Ten means business. People will think you either walked out of a jazz lounge or speed around town in a Mazarati and think they smell the rubber from the tires.

LOL..

This lawyer also enjoys Blenheim Bouquet...

I think they may have to market it to us.. we seem to be suckers..

What jurisdiction are you in? You must have wide open spaces.

Courtrooms are getting smaller and smaller. Maybe for a trial you can get away with a power scent, I can't imagine wearing a power scent to a crowded motion calendar.

Maybe around the office.

I'm lucky enough, or misfortunate enough to be a transactional guy who often only wears jeans and birkenstocks, but in my 3rd year I did the public defender thing to get some 1st chair experience (the only internship that gave you that kind of experience around here). The judge in the court that I was assigned to stopped me one day and told me not to wear cologne because I was taking a chance on turning people off. It stuck with me and I don't even wear it in the office.

Otherwise I am in total love with Opus 1870.

I use the blood of my vanquished foes, and the tears of their families. I soak myself in the humiliation of opposing counsel. The leather from hundred year old tomes and chairs, cigar smoke and old single malt....these are the scents by which you know you are in my presence. I am the learned counsel, and my power ties, power suits, and power scent combine to defeat all comers before the first words are spoken at the bench.

In reality, I am in house, focusing on Private Placement investments. I don't need nor have a power scent. I don't even wear a tie most days. Though I do love me some BB, cigar smoke and single malt!

This. Definitely not at trial, generally not at hearings or during rule days.

Great responses!!

I went with the BB. I have court in a few, with two female attorneys, one who is on my side (with a different plaintiff), and another representing the defendant who perpetrated such outrageous and harassing conduct against my client that I can't even type it on this forum.

The combination of the facts, the law, and the BB are certain to be victorious today. :thumbup1:
