What's new

Hey is that.

... an old style pen? It looks more modern. People still use those? Exclaimed the girl in customer service while I was filling out an application yesterday. It seems a little fun can be had while filling out applications. Although on some applications the ink in my pen does not like the paper. But it was to expected that is why I am carrying a ball point just in case.

Now half as wise
I get that a lot. Usually followed by "Where can you buy ink cartridges?" Then they are even more amazed when I show them the lever fill mechanism!

Exactly, I have heard and seen some schools are going to tablets in classes. These kids are barely going to know how to read and write.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard and I hope it's not the case. Spelling and grammar are already atrocious enough with the almighty 160 character limit for both twitter and texting. We don't need kids learning to lean on spell check and autocorrect for everything, just like we don't need them leaning on calculators for all their math issues.

Regardless of what the schools decide to teach my kid(s) I will be teaching them how to use their own brian power if needed. No calculators until they get to something more complex than multiplication and division. MAYBE when they hit exponents. Maybe. No spell check (outside of an actual dictionary and proof reading!) until they start having to write 1000+ word essays. Even then that spell check button should be used as a last resort, not as a way out of doing the work.

"Just bee cause its spelt write doesn't mean it is spelled write!"
"Too bee or knot tube." That isn't the question!

Hear is a knew example. There going to look silly if they don't sea they're mistakes. Now I'm going to pare a pair of pears because their just better sliced. :) Buy by four now!

Cheers,

M.

The best I have heard was when I was filling out paper work at a Dr. office with my Edison LE Encore Tortoise and another patient looked at me and asked if the Dr. was giving those away.

... all you have to do is fifty jumping jacks within a week of receiving a quintuple bypass and it's all yours.

Brian has a charity that we will give any child one of his Parker 51 pens to New Jersey child that can write their name in cursive. H
The children "curse" their names.

His pen collection remains stable.

Good one, best laugh of the day! Thanks, I needed that.

Sadly, not far from the truth.

I love pulling out my blue swirled M200 and filling out the credit card slip when signing for dinner. Always gets attention. Gets even more attention when they see the color of ink! :)
