Help with the Paul Sebastian scent

Can someone describe the scent of Paul Sebastian? And do you have a preference between the EDT and the A/S? I'm curious, but don't seem to have a way of trying it other than ordering it on-line.

Thanks!

PS can be overpowering, so use it in small dabs. I enjoy wearing it from time to time (note: I am 58). It is definitely a masculine, clean scent with a significant drydown featuring patchouli (which I like). Some sophisticated noses are turned up with PS.

I have some, somewhere, that I never ever wear, I think. If I can find it, and you want it, it's yours. It's packed away, and I'm in the middle of moving. The scent is really nice.

That would be awesome, Paul. I'll be happy to pay you for it. Let me know if you find it, after settling in from the move. And I understand it may take awhile. We moved 16 months ago, and are still "settling in".

Gentlemen,

I picked up two bottles of Paul Sebastian — part of a set of aftershave, cologne spray and deodorant — from TJ Max at a good price. The aftershave was too overpowering and somewhat unpleasant for me. In addition to scents described here, I also found a strong whiff of tobacco, musk and some sort of citrus in the overall fragrance. The cologne splash is a bit more subtle and easier to take. I like the deodorant.

TJ Max occasionally has some surprises. I once found several bottles of Royall Muske and Royall Spyce in a local TJ. Hadn't seen them before, and haven't seen them since.

Kingfisher,

No, not at all. My thoughts on the fragrance were not meant as a negative in general. As you well know, fragrance is a matter whose nose is taking it in. I found the aftershave unpleasant — for my nose. The cologne splash, which is more subtle, I find more acceptable, and will use it until finished.

Randy,

TJ Max sometimes can be a goldmine for gentlemen shavers. I have found some gems there. Since my family loves the store, naturally I always volunteer to drive them.

I must confess, on my jaunts there, I continue to hope for Trumpers, Taylor, Truefitt and some of the other purveyors of glorious shaving products. Nothing so far, but miracles do happen.

Regards,

Obelit

It's really hard to not let your personal preferences come through when you're describing a fragrance, and I don't even expect anyone to not indicate whether they like something or don't. I always indicate my preferences, and welcome others to do the same. In fact I think it's helpful, especially when you describe, as each of you have, what you do or don't like about a fragrance. That makes it easier to decide whether or not, with my own preferences, I might be interested in trying something. I think we all recognize that everyone's tastes and impressions are different. Even my own preferences are different from time to time. We all know the expression about opinions, but in this case, I really like to hear them.

Thanks!

I must be a sophisticated nose!

I posted under the review for it, but I thought I'd just chime in here as well. When you look for the fragrance notes for Paul Sebastian it says, " This masculine scent possesses a blend of lavender, sage, jasmine, rose, amber and musk." I believe that it is pretty accurate. I've caught an individual note of many of the listed above.

Of course we're all different, but I personally like this very much. I know the first time I put it on it was a bit strong, but by the next time I used it everything was fine. I know that my fiancee likes it as well so it has added meaning for me. :wink2:

I find that the scent lasts very long on me. I've found the scent still there a day later. I've been on a bit of a kick with the Paul Sebastian line of cologne. I have PS, Design for Men, Casual for Men, Onyx, and Kinetic. Only one I can't find is Silver, and the discontinued stuff. I find that there's something in them all that I like, and for only a few sprays they last a long time. Works for me but YMMV of course. :001_smile

One way or another I'm going to try this. I'll wait awhile and see if Paul finds his after the move. I suspect there isn't a fragrance on the planet that some don't care for, but this has enough positive support and specific scent comments to make it interesting to me. Thanks again, all, or as I usually say, "ya'll".

:thumbup1: If Paul doesn't find his after the move take a look around the internet for deals. I believe I bought mine from Amazon at the time and got the huge 8 oz. bottle for under 20 with shipping! :001_tt1: Doesn't have an atomizer on it though so keep that in mind. Hope it all works out for you jakespoppy!
