So with being a new guy I'm wondering a good aftershave. Personally after shaving the past two weeks with a Merkur 34C I have found that Nivea Sensitive After shave isn't for me as it leaves the sides of my neck running to my ears with red spots. I don't have this problem when I splash some Aqua Velva on but with it having alcohol I'm wondering if anyone could prescribe something else that is good that isn't loaded with alcohol as I would prefer to not use it everyday and let it dry out my skin. Thanks for any and all help.

Are you asking about a Balm? Splash? Or both? Most splashes will have some alcohol. Sounds by your post you like splashes, (AV) so there are things you can do to still enjoy them while counteracting the drying effects of alcohol.
Some buy a splash making sure it has glycerin and other conditioners as well.
Some add more glycerin to their splashes.
Some put on a balm first, then a splash.
Some splash first, then a balm.
Some mix their splash & balm together.
Many different formulas to get where you want to go, that's the journey people mention here my friend.
