Help picking first Badger Brush

So I'm approximately 1 month into DE shaving and have gotten my technique down pretty well, I feel it's time to start trying new things and first on that list is acquiring a badger brush.

1. I currently use a Semogue 1305 boar brush

2. For this first month I only used Proraso cream, but I have a milled puck of Tabac waiting and plan on getting some Mama Bear soaps so I'd like something that will handle both well -- I lather in a bowl but I've started to notice that after the first application, the boar starts to feel a little scratchy and starts to irritate a little by the 4th.

3. I'm looking for something that has some backbone but is softer on the face so I figure I'm in the "best" range. I rather like a decent-sized handle. Since I'm not really a face latherer, some heft is fine.

4. I'd prefer classy, curvy handles... just no chrome or clear acrylic if possible.

5. I fully understand that you get what you pay for, I'm thinking in the $75-$100 range == I'd REALLY like this to be the last brush I ever need (see #8).

6. I think I'd prefer a small/medium-sized brush, maybe a little smaller than the 1305 I have now.

7. The two brushes I've found on my own that sound good are:

Shavemac 22714:

Rooney 3/1 Finest:

8. This will be my last brush, I need to avoid AD's of all sorts - please ignore that I already have 3 DE's and plan to get a 4th as soon as John gets DE89L's back in stock ;)

Thank you for any help that you guys can give.

Of what you have listed, I'd go with the Rooney. I had a Rooney 1/1 for quite a while. It's a nice little brush. I ultimately traded it in for a Simpsons Chubby 1 which is more than likely the last brush I'll ever buy. I prefer the stubby little handles versus the curvey ones, but I'm sure Simpsons has curvey handles too. I'm not familiar with Penworks, but Shavemac gets a lot of love around here.

Kind of tough to make your second brush your last, but I don't think you'll go wrong with what you're considering. Besides, there's always B/S/T. :w00t:
