Help me choose: Gillette gel or Edge gel

Hello everyone,

Here's my situation: I have a puck of Ogallala Bay Rum that I'm almost done with, and being in Grenada right now my options for what to use after the soap is finished are limited. The local supermarket has Gillette shave gel or Edge shave gel (there *might* be a third choice, but I don't remember right now), and not much else. Obviously an actual cream or soap would be preferable to either one of the gels.

If you were in my shoes, which one would you pick?

+1 Otherwise, I'd say either one works equally well, though I seem to recall preferring the Gillette.

No Barbasol (at least that I've seen). It might exist - I'll have to double check.

Ordering something online and having it shipped IS actually out of the question. Transit time to Grenada is terrible (some of my colleagues who have not shipped via FedEx or DHL have gotten packages 30+ days after they've been sent), FedEx and DHL are expensive, customs taxes are high, and items are usually held at the post office in the city which takes time to get to.

So for now, I guess, I'll have to begrudgingly go with canned goo when my soap runs out.

either one would be fine - I use Edge out of habit ( but only for the buffing stage ) , i.e. I coudn't in good conscience continue to participate in this forum if I were goo exclusive ------but I remember trying Gillette in the past & my recall is that it was identical .

I have used both in the past and I preferred the"plain old" Edge gel in the green can. I don't recall there being a huge difference either way, but I always seemed to get the best performance from the green Edge gel.

back in my youth (as in when i was a cartridge shaver) i always used gillette. but my bro always used edge. but since hes a cotton headed ninny muggin and im the one on here, i'd go with the gillette

Cotton Headed Ninny Muggin !!! that's a good one , maybe I'll use that on a golf buddy of mine after he hits a bad one !!! just curious , is that a colloquial expression in your local region ?

I have become goo exclusive for some time now. I prefer edge over Gillette. Hope it helps answer your question.
