Help me build a Shavemac 4336

Hi!

I want to ask Bernd to customize me a Shavemac 4336 (the round-bottom brush), and I'm needing a little guidance/suggestions from the crowd.

D01 hair is the "good" stuff, right?

Question is, what shape/size of knot? The "rounded" knot seems to be a Shavemac trademark, but are there different styles of "rounded"? Which do you prefer, round or flat, and why?

What seems to be the ideal loft? I'm thinking a 23mm knot with 45mm loft would be fun, and a good compliment to my other "main" brush, a Semogue with 22mm knot and 57mm loft. I use only soaps (well, except for the occasional Musgo Real splurge). I do enjoy the Semogue very much, but have been interested in seeing what a short-loft brush can do...

Bernd offered to put the same knot as the 177 brush (23mm) into a 4336 base, and I thought that sounded pretty good. Is the 177 knot round, flat, or something different? It's 56mm tall...

What Shavemac knot size/shape/loft do you have? Would you change anything about it if you could?

Thanks!!!

Another vote for D01 hair, 21mm knot, 50mm loft, bulb shape.

I have 3 brushes - MenU synthetic, EJ BB and the Shavemac.

I use the Shavemac all the time, its the one piece of shaving gear that I don't rotate.
