What the hell is wrong with me. It has become a habit now. I don't even think about it. I get bored somewhere and out comes my iphone, the Ebay app gets launched and I immediately go to surfing blades, razors, soaps, creams etc. Today I actually had to restrain myself from buying a Merkur futur, Thats the last thing I need to do. Buy another razor. So I bought one single pack of feathers. $3 shipped. quick fix Geez... I feel like a dope fiend, feeling around in the carpet for a little bit that might have dropped on the floor, picking up lint balls and trying to smoke them.

Earlier this week I bought a spoon rest thing that was ment for the kitchen, and cut it apart with a dremel to get the stainless steel bowl out of it. (Fits standard 3 inch soap pucks perfectly) My wife just ignores my obsession now.

I think I have a mental problem.

Cowboy I feel your pain. I just bought a frickin (not bragging) hope it works cause I know I will have to buy a ikon base just so I can use it. Either I will have to "get help" or at the end of the road will be an empty padded sell just waiting for me. Pretty ssure "they"won't let me use de razors there.

I do feel for you, but also envious, $3 fix - I wish. Ebay or amazon goes on and I'm up to £10 - £15 in a flash.
DONT look at Connaught or you'll just be lost forever.

PS. I'm 7 months in, 30+ razors and few hundred blades nearly levelling off I hope.

Just wait, it gets worse (or better depending on your viewpoint). I've cycled through RAD, moved on to a cream/soft soap habit, then an aftershave habit, and then to balms. Just when I thought I was done, I've started collecting brushes. I purchased 4 vintage models on Ebay and have order knots from TGN so I can restore them. I'm always on the the lookout for an interesting handle. Heaven help me!!!

I consider myself lucky. Got away with a lot of minor leanings towards AD's and am finding myself fairly happily committed to not adding to the pile until I've used up a lot of stuff.

Very mild RAD : DE89 - gifted to my father - '61 Fatboy (see what all the fuss is about), 1912 (liked the set), 39C (best razor ever used), R41 (making a liar out of me - actual best razor I ever used). Was able to stop after I got the R41. Can't see what I need another razor for. Keeping the vintage stuff because they're interesting. Keeping the 39C for a PIF.

Got a bit hooked on brushes for a while - SOC 2 Band, SOC Boar, Semogue 2000, Muhle Retro silvertip...also have an EJ Best. Managed to convince myself that there was logic to this in that my brushes don't always dry out overnight (Ireland...weather...bleagh) so in order to ensure I had access to a boar or badger on any given day I wanted two of each. Of course, the SOC 2 Band would do any sensible man for life but eh meh I got myself out of BAD on this logic. Glad I did. You could spend a lot of money on a BAD. The EJ is again, being kept for a PIF.

Then the soap/cream thing. I've pretty much banned myself from shaving.ie. I have four pucks of Mikes, two of Tabac, two of Mitchells, one tub of TOBS, two of GFT, three tubes of Proraso and two tubes of EJ...(see you save on the shipping when you buy a few...). I know I would end up with a ridiculous amount more if I let myself go here so I've made a firm commitment to buy no more until I am down to my last three pucks - which is of course some years away. Probably will end up PIF'ing some of this stuff.

Got a little side-tracked on the other software (little bit of balm here, little bit of EDT there, couple of bottles of skin food) but that's not really a big deal as I tend to just replace what I've used up.

Blades - settled on Feathers very early - laid in a stock of a few hundred - no AD here.

Gonna be one hell of a PIF too when I get around too it

In my military/ basic training days our drill instructors would turn off the lights and get on his hands and knees with his flashlight and do just that look for let balls on the hard tile floor.
