Have these soaps gone bad?

Got some vintage soaps, Crabtree, Williams, and Colgate. They all have some black marks or things on them. Have they gone bad? I think some of the stuff on the Crabtree can be rinsed off.

They are bad and should be disposed of.

I'll PM you my address shortly. I will get rid of them for you.

Respectfully, you have to be a licensed soap disposal officer to act in this capacity.

Happily I am one, and will pm you my address momentarily.

Thank you for reaching out. Both of the gentlemen listed above work for my disposal company, and are behind in their training on the newest disposal techniques. If you send them to me, I will make sure they are disposed of in a safe and efficient manner.

I would just use them. I have cleaned off an old puck (Williams Mug high tallow, unknown age) but it had apparently been sitting in an open cup for decades and had a serious dirt and dust crust. Not just flyspecks that will be lost in the lather.

We have just left the employ of a crazed dictator, once the most famed soap disposal officer of them all, he suffered a complete mental collapse after trying to eat a 1kg block of Cella, and grew a beard.

Bruce and I now control the company premises and plant and have the backing of the board, shareholders and the wider community.

Please forward soap your earliest convenience thank you.

I’m a senior officer at the FSDA - federal soap disposal agency.

Unfortunately due to situation above your disposal company is no longer certified and your license was suspended until further review.

All accusations are now under investigation.

Please @Miketorrge, PM me your info and I can guarantee the proper and safe disposal of your toxic soap.

You’re now talking directly to a government official, no private business involved, so you can thrust me 100%.

Regards
Alex

THE FEDS ARE ONTO US. GO UNDERGROUND.

LEAVE THE SOAP TO ME. SAVE YOURSELF.

You people are bad... 🤣

Aged hard soaps are normally fine. Just scrape off anything that looks questionable on the outside. A dull knife or even a carrot peeler would work.

@Miketorrge , Be wary of Alex's FSDA as they have lax standards. They recently tested vintage soaps like yours and approved them as safe for use with post-shave test results such as that shown in the attached photo of one of their product testers.🤣

Back to your original question the advice to just scoop out any questionable bits makes sense. You can also rinse the pucks prior to use to remove any surface dust.
