I really liked the pipe that Anse Hatfield (Kevin Costner) was smoking throughout the Hatfields & McCoy mini-series on A&E last week.

To me it looked like a short pot style pipe, but I am not very good at pipe descriptions. Can somebody give me a better description of the pipe?

Really is a cool looking pipe. My best guess is a canadian type billiard. Hard to tell for sure from most the pics I've seen online.

I also watched the show and liked his pipe, not sure of the style either. It's a short pipe, that's for certain. I live in the very area that these feuds took place and Devil Anse Hatfield was my great, great, great uncle so if anyone finds info on the pipe...let me know. Thanks guys ;-)

I read mention that his pipe might have been all wood. Would explain the shortness of it. That's a softie on the end of this one. The one in the series looks like a canted apple or a slighty fat cutty(like a clay pipe shape).

That was info gathered from many websites over a couple hours. Everyone is trying to find out what it is but no one has answers.

How about this one with a small nose warmer like stem? This a "egg" shape churchwarden.

Looks kinda like a "nosewarmer" zulu from that pic.
