Harris Lavender vs. AOS Lavender

I have not used AOS Lavender soap. Which makes me wonder which is the better soap in terms of performance and scent?

Harris Lavender vs. AOS Lavender

Which is the better Lavender soap?

RJ

I use both and feel that they both are great. AOS explodes in a rich dense lather easy and the scent it a nice lavender. The Harris is a harder soap but doesnt take that much more work to get it to give you a rich dense lather as well. The scent of the harris is a bit more pronounced and sweeter to me.

I don't have the Lavender from either brand, but as far as performance goes I've had great shaves with both Harris (Arlington soap/creap and Marlborough soap) and AOS (Lemon cream) products. My hunch is I'd be pleased with that scent from either company.

(I'd been using TOBS for my Lavender)

Interesting. AOS must be very lightly scented since I find all of Harris soaps to be quite light on fragrance.

Harris has a bright almost flowery scent. It is the best scent by far.

AOS is lightly scented deep clay like lavender.

Efficacy wise I hardly use the Harris much any more. It cuts too close for me, although a lot of gents like it fine. I do too, just not say ...towards the end of a 8 shave work week. AOS lav gives me no nicks or irritation so I use it more than anything else combined in my locker.

I've tried both and Harris is cheaper and has a more pleasing scent to my nose so now I only own the Harris. In terms of performance both are excellent.

As far as performance, I think AOS is a better soap. However, I really dislike the scent of the AOS lavender, and will not use it. I love AOS sandalwood, btw.

DR Harris lavender has a very nice scent, but is not quite as good as AOS in performance.

If I was choosing just between AOS lavender and DR Harris lavender, I would go with the DR Harris.

AOS shave smell a little like clay which works very well for sandalwood but not as good for Lavender.
I actually think the Unscented is their number one selling soap in a personal email from the company.

I would probably pick the Harris because the lather is almost on the same level and has a better scent

Great. Thanks guys.

As result of passing on numerous EBay auctions for 40 year old discontinued soaps going beyond the $100 price range; I now have a new interest in contemporary Lavender soaps.

Harris it is.

I don't have any experience with the soaps you mention, but I thought I'd at least say that if you had gotten a vintage shaving soap that was originally lavender scented, then there probably wouldn't be any scent remaining. If it is the scent you are after, then vintage soap probably isn't the way to go, unless, of course, you just want to add in your own essential oil and then you could potentially have a great performer (or not, depending on which soap) with whatever scent you want.

I fine the Lavender scent of DR Harris very enjoyable but subtle leaving you wanting more.
I would compate the potency of its scent to that of a cup of tea
