Handle repair

I would like some suggestions on how to repair threads on a handle. I got a mismatched handle on my last ebay score. It's a New slim handle, and the first half of the threads are stripped. Helicoil? Solder in brass tube and rethread? Any method any of you have used successfully would be appreciated.

I don't think they make a 10-28 helicoil...so that is not an option. You might be able to braze the hole up...but you will need a lathe to drill and tap it. the brazing or soldiering will certainly discolor the handle. Just one more note...You will have to order a 10-28 tap from a machining tool website.....you will never find one at a local hardware store....trust me...I have looked! Why not just use a regular bar handle until you decide on how you want to fix it??
