Would any of you be able to opine on Gunter Wilhelm brand kitchen knives? They're camped out at my Costco this week, and the prices are pretty darn low for the knives they're selling. The knives are hefty, look good, and fit my hands well. They claim to be designed in the USA, forged in Solingen, and finished in China.
That last part gives me some pause, as does the fact that I've never heard of them. They do have a lifetime warranty, and the seller said if there's ever a problem you just have to email the company a picture of your damaged knife and they'll send a replacement.
Have any of you honorable culinarians used these? Would you recommend them?
