Grosvenor v. Berkley

So, with a birthday upcoming, I am thinking of requesting a new brush from SWMBO. I currently have a Tweezerman, which is OK but sheds a lot. From what I have seen and read, I would like to try either an intro-level Berkley or maybe a Badger/Boar Grosvenor. I've not used a boar brush, but am pretty intrigued by the possibility of a best of both worlds situation. Any suggestions as between the two? Anything else I should look at as well (among the ridiculous multitude of brushes)? Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just got a Grosvenor yesterday based on my experience with the Omega 11047 aka mixed midget, test lathered 4 times last night, I face lathered this morning with no complaints. I didn't stink out of the box but initially my Vie-Long kicked its but for softness, backbone and price. Next up is a mixed Vie-Long horse badger mix. I have no experience with the Berkley land all my Badgers are entry level to cheap and suffer from being tool floppy and too prickly, with my favorite being from frank shaving on eBay (Richmond Finest), you can get a Silvertip from franks for under 40 bucks. Otherwise I think you can get a better brush for less in horse or boar. Just my two cents.

Berkley is a great brush for face lathering either soaps or creams. A boar brush is another option for you. They take a bit to break in, but are worth it.

Either brush would be fine. They are both great for face lathering. The Berkeley is going to have a softer face feel than the Grosvenor.
Another option is to look at a nice Semogue. I recommend the SOC if you go with a boar.

If you already own a Badger I'd recommend the Mixed Knot, the Grosvenor is nice, though I'd recommend the Vie-Long Mixed which really kicks a*s.
