Great brush.... Buuuut...

The Simpsons "Ehsan" is a truly amazing brush! It just does everything well, although I have not sampled every high end brush for comparison purposes...
But, be forewarned, this greatness comes at a cost... For instance, if you have other brushes you like that you would like to continue using, or other brushes that have a home that you do not want to put on the B/S/T forum beware. Ordering and using an Ehsan just might cause your present favorites to get relegated to the back of the shelf, or worse, put up for sale outright!

It's just that good!

I'm sure this varies with user, for me the feel on the face, soft tips, good backbone, and size are just right. It works equally well with soap, stick or cream. It looks good. I'm convinced it has better properties than the 90th anniversary brush I have. Finally, the price. $110 for a Simpson two band super is unbeatable.

All that said, I'm also sure there will be variations one brush to the next.

The knot looks lovely, except I don't like the urn shaped handle. I want a DO1 fan shaped Shavemac, but I think the handles look feminine. Which can be a nice thing, but I'd rather have brushes with blocky or knob handles.

And this is coming from a Gentleman who has had some serious badger brush experience. I'm not in the market but these positive opinions should be heeded.

The 2 banded "Super" badger Simpson Colonel brush offered by Phil at BullGoose originally a special order fashioned for a member in bespoke version.
Seriously Paul, are you pulling our chain?

No... I've seen it referenced a lot, but asked 3 or 4 times and this is the first answer I've gotten. Thanks :001_smile

So, I'm assuming HeirkB is the guy that this is named for, huh? I just assumed it was the brush that he favored instead of a brush named after him. Cool :001_cool:

No problem Paul. It has been trumpeted quite a bit and appears to be a good value and performer and comes from a vendor that is highly regarded. I'm not "Evangelizing" either the product or the vendor though, staying within our prescribed rules of engagement. I'm a big fan of Simpson in general.
