What's new

Got this today for $3.00. but what is it?

I picked this little guy up at the local antique store for $3.00, it was buried under a heap of crappis (there is probably a lot of great stuff in there, if they ever organized it. There was a very old looking bottle of Lilac Vegetal in a big clunky round glass bottle that said "For professional use only", 3/4 full...)
Anyway- I was wondering if all of you experts could help me guess what it is. I couldn't get the greatest pictures, but it "Made in Germany" stamped on it, and a little symbol that I can't really figure out, or get a picture of. If I had to guess, it looks like the letter "P" in fancy letters, with another letter (It actually also kind of looks like a "P", but with a longer loopy part). It is pretty short and light, with a hollow handle.
Sooo... Any guesses?

The logo looks somethign like this (The bottom one where they overlap). The two things look something like the two top pics independently... I thought I recognized the one on the right...

The handle should unscrew into two pieces. The smaller, top half slides inside the larger, bottom half making the whole razor more compact for travel.

Merkur is still making them. Here is a photo of one that is currently available:

I thought it might, but I can't get it. Any suggestions of how to unscrew a jammed thread without tearing it up with vice grips? I hit it with some penetrating oil, but that didn't seem to help. Any idea of the date ranges on these?

Thanks for all your swell help!

You can try heating the larger half and cooling the smaller half in ice water. The expansion of the larger and contraction of the smaller may help loosen them.
