Got the "wrong" Simpson brush

Hey, i just got my brush 5 min. ago. Opend the box and i got the colonel 2 in stead of the commodore 2. Should i be happy or dissapointed? (wow, my english was really bad there i think..) colonelmühle
The other brush is the Mühle stylo 20 mm knot.

Sure, and i agree. My question is really: which brush is the best. Commodore or colonel? is it the same knot?

The Commodore X2 has these specs:

Total Height: 94mm
Bristle Loft: 47mm
Knot Dia: 22mm

And the Colonel:

Total Height: 100mm
Bristle Loft: 46mm
Knot Dia: 22mm

They are the same price at West Coast Shaving so I suppose this comes down to what you want out of the brush. I have owned both and like the Colonel more, FWIW.

I have owned both and to me the Colonel's handle is perfect.

They are very similar and if you like the handle design (I love it), you can keep your Colonel and be very happy with your "surprise" brush.

I had a hard time with that choice when I bought mine. I bought the Colonel because I liked the handle better. It is a bummer not to get what you ordered. I suppose it would come down to how much I really wanted the other brush.

4-5 weeks ago I ordered one Colonel and One Commodore X3 (Both in Best Badger). The Colonel for my father and the Commodore for myself. I opened both boxes and felt them, and I must admit I was a bit disappointed by the ergonomics of the Colonel Handle. The Commodore felt more "right" in my hand for my fingers. The ergonomic standards wasnt that great I.M.O on the Colonel. But by all means, The Colonel should get the job done. At the end of the day its all about what you feel for the most and which one of them you set your mind for. + (The standard ending) Y.M.M.V

I love the handle of my X2 and didn't like the ergonomics of the Colonel handle at all. I believe the Commodore has a slightly bigger knot too. Mine is 23 mm with 49 mm loft.

OK, then i love my milage used it now and its really nice. The handle fits good ( i have big hands). And the backbone is super. The Mühle on the pictures is too floppy, no backbone. It's a keeper.

I was deciding between the commodore 2 and the colonel and ended up picking the colonel. FWIW, I love the brush. I haven't had the opportunity to try out a commodore 2 so I may not know what I'm missing. But I have no regrets at all on my decision. Enjoy your great brush!

Well, if you like the brush, keep it, if not, then return it. They are both fine brushes.

Just get a Commodore X3 to correct your "mistake." You'll eventually have more than 1 Simpson. They like being surrounded by family.

i'm waiting for a good excuse to buy a 2-band chubby.... My friend had his 24th birthday last week. Maybe thats a good enough excuse. Hmmm...
