I shaved with the diplomat this morning and it was great! But the razor is a little too nice to be a daily user. What ither Gillettes are similar in weight and blade gap?

The President is its closest relative with just the plating differences. The notched Aristocrat is close.
Any reason you specify the Notched vs. the Un-Notched version? Is there a significant blade gap difference or weight difference?

Thanks Ray! The plating is all in tact, but the lacquer is starting to go...any tips?
It's a beauty, gotta love those Diplomats.....
Agreed, mine isn't nearly as nice, it has a significant bit of plate loss on the TTO knob and no case
Nice one! They do shave very well. If it weren't for the self induced nostrilectomies, I would have them in my rotation.
Sorry no, just take care of it and it should last a long time as long as it is not an issue where it is peeling away. Wear is not such an issue. You'll be surprised how long it lasts.
