I believe that some time ago I saw a post providing comparisons of the various Golden Nib knot qualities to those of other brushes. Tip softness, backbone, etc. Now I cannot find it! Can anyone help? Bless you!!

Don't understand Fidgit's ranking system in the first post, about half way down. Is 1 "most" and 3 "least"? And I noticed that TGN only lists a 21mm knot in a UK Super; I am looking to replace a knot advertised at 21mm. Would a 20mm work, I wonder?
I would think that yes, 1 = Best and 3 = Worse...
If you have a 21mm hole, you should go with a 21mm knot. A 20mm will fit in the 21mm but will leave you with a gap as those knots are the exact size or a tiny bit smaller...

Don't get too hung up on my ratings. If you buy the Finest, Silvertip A or Super you can't go wrong ( assuming you want a soft tip knot )
It's really hard to say to make recommendations without seeing the brush and the knot hole. How much depth do you have ?? If it's a 21mm hole and you want to set the loft low and need to put the knot "deep" into the handle then a 20mm will be the way to go as the knot spreads quite quickly .
If you have a 21mm hole but you only have 8mm depth knot hole then a 21mm is the way to go.
Perhaps post a picture of the brush with the hole diameter and depth. That might help
