Glycerin Soap Preferences

I have used QED, TGQ, and Honeybee glycerin base soaps. Of the three, Honeybee is my favorite on a performance basis. The addition of shea butter and clay make for a nice lather. I don't love the scent of many of the Honeybee FO soaps that I've tried, but the EO soaps smell great. I think I'm just partial to stuff that smells natural. I like the lavender/rosemary/peppermint. The scent is somewhat mild, but very nice.

First choice would be something from Saint Charles Shave. Her soaps are just awesome.

Second choice would be The Gentleman's Quarter.

Third choice would be Mama Bear.

The only ones I have used are from The Gentleman's Quarter so that is what I would probably (or maybe something from one of the Sues, or one of our other fine vendors) purchase. The smell great, are easy to lather and I get a very close shave with them.

I have used HBS, QED, TGQ, Mama Bear, Col. Conk, and VDH.

HBS, QED, TGQ, and Mama Bear are all very strong contenders and great soap.

For performance, I prefer glycerin soaps with added clay (usually bentonite), which HBS and TGQ both have. For some reason I prefer HBS over TGQ, although they are both amazing.

For scent, you simply cannot beat a tub of QED.

I must also mention Mama Bear as her soaps are quite good. I still kick myself for selling my Mama Bear soaps.

Musgo Real Glycerine Lime Soap is great. The scent is wonderful. I use it as preshave and whenever I want to make superlather the Mantic way.
