besides the gillette aristocrat #16 at 82 grams,were there any other closed comb gillettes with a weight over 80 grams ??

The big fellows have the weight,I do not have one but just looking at photos they appear to have much more weight in the handle than the head....does the #16 aristocrat have more weight in the head ? also are the red dot fatboys a full distribution razor,or just a small run of prototypes?
I don't have any idea how many red dots were made, but you could pick just about any other date code fatboy and find plenty of them, but the D1 remains scarce.

I had sworn off buying them, but that one is making me reconsider.
Surprisingly the Big Fellows are not as heavy in the handle as they appear. The shafts are hollow. The mid-point balance on mine is about 1 inch below the baseplate.
Yes, the #16 has more weight towards the head.
It is an entirely different beast internally. It shares a lot of design with the F4 toggle.
I just snagged that picture off the net, but I'll bet that particular D-1 costs or did cost somebody a pretty penny. All the paint looks flawless.
Interesting. I have no idea how the F4 is built, either.
Oh well, my "regular" fatboy is still 80g, which i deem heavy enough.
