Gillette Rocket-Aristocrat Jr.

Picked this up today

A Gillette Rocket that looked like it was in pretty good condition

A 1957 blade still loaded...(the blades in the dispenser are all the same "C2" dated blades, the 5 blades in the box are "A1" 1955)
I'm assuming it hasnt been used for a while...

Removing the blade shows the solid plate that the blade sits on..this Rocket is an Aristocrat Jr. Sweet!

Patent number 430030

Gave it a good spray and soak in Scrubbin Bubbles to remove any soap scum from the moving parts and then soaked it in hot dish soap water, followed by a good scrubbing with a brush.

Also gave the case and blade dispenser a cleaning

Great score! These are the razors you will grow to love & cherish. Now to find the case it was meant to be delivered in. But use the razor -- you'll be amazed at the smooth close comfortable shave.

Thanks!! Actually, this is my second Aristocrat Jr., I agree, very nice smooth shave.
I do wonder if this is not the case it came in...Gillette Canada has done strange things in the past, I would not doubt that they put Rocket Aristocrat Jr's in the Rocket case.
In the store where I bought this set, there was a second Rocket case, it also had an Aristocrat Jr in it..odd coincidence.
I also read this: " I’ve also heard they were cased in the same red/clear styrene case as the Rocket although I’m somewhat suspicious of these claims."

Are you finding all your recent razors in Alberta?

I have bought a few razors off the "Bay", but by far most of them are bought locally...Thx

Well Canada does set its own standards. Maybe that case is correct for Canadian Aristocrat Jr. razors. What does Mr. Razor say? Doesn't appear to have been noticed by him, but Gillette & Canada... They could certainly have created their own standards. And that case is a nice one. Glad you've had a chance to try shaving with this model. Great fit and great feel.

Achim may chime in soon, or Porter. I think the case is correct though.

There seems to be so little info on Canadian sets that it maybe impossible to determine whats correct..
It would appear that the blade dispenser style is correct for the set... :001_unsur
