Gillette Pens

Now that I am recovering from my RAD, I find myself with too many razors but too few pens. And then it dawned on me:

For the purists out there - the handles are easily returned to their heads. Personally, I get a lot of enjoyment out of writing with a classy piece of history. :001_rolle Good conversation piece too. I mean, how else can you show off a handle out of the house, right?

They ARE a bit short but the balls of the ABC's rest nicely on the hand. Still thinking about "caps".....any thoughts?

i can honestly say i would have never thought of that..you smart or have too much time on your hands :biggrin1:

Congrats, GB. You have truly entered the ranks of the die-hard shavegeeks, those who go beyond mere standard usage to find new and interesting ways to use their shave products. There is also another class - those who try to find ways to shave with anything but standard shaving cream or soap, typically involving items found in the garage. I like your approach better.

Nice "pens," by the way. Looks like fun to use. :thumbup1:

Wow, what a good idea!

It seems to me they'd make better dip pens than fountain pens. No need for a cap (and making something like a Pilot VP would really be a challenge).

I'm in awe over the idea! Those are just plain neato!

Hmm.. a fountain pen version. I don't think that those handles have the space inside for a cartridge. But a quill can work, and you can cut your own quill from a goose feather. A quill with the stem stripped of the feathering and cut a little longer than the handle might stay put.

Thanks all. I really appreciate the feedback! Am going to check out the dip nib option too.

Just when I thought I had the ABC razors that I need, I see this. How did you convert them to take a ball point pen tip? Very, very creative! Nice work!!
