Gillette Open Comb Ball End Tech??

On another forum a person has a Gillette open comb ball end tech for sale. I looked up in the wiki and googled but can't find a open comb tech. Is there such and animal? He doesn't have any pictures of it. I couldn't find a tech with and open comb. Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

However, it is entirely possible and even somewhat probable that someone would be selling an old type head with the handle of a ball end tech. Some of the old types had problems with the handles being hollow and too thin, causing them to crack. Swapping the handle with a solid one from a ball end tech is one solution to that.

I suspect the razor in question may be a New Gillette. The New had the bar and groove type of blade locating method but still had an open comb. To my knowledge, the Techs all used the safety bar rather than the comb.

Tom

+1 to all the above.

the old type handle had a ball end similar to the tech handle. the old type one was bigger, but to the untrained eye, the mistake could be made. In any case, Techs do not exist as open combs.

See my signature for three piece Gillette ID'ing. That will solve it.

Could be a Goodwill or one of the pocket editions. But it's not a Tech as others have mentioned.

I'm trying to get a hold of the owner to get some pictures and will post here if I get any. Thanks for the help. Jim

Exactly what I was thinking...
