anyone notice the knob on this razor; a variant?

Mebbe so, but not too rare, I have one exactly like it and so does Achim.
And I'm not really a "rare collectables" kind of collector.

I'm surprised it went that cheap. The case, containers and blade boxes alone are worth more than what it sold for. I'm also noticing the Gillette patch generally only found in the ABC pocket sets.. the patch that doesn't say Made In USA on it. One of our Aussie members had a single ring in a metal case that also had the ABC patch inside the lid, right above an imprint of some sort of coat of arms. I'm about convinced that ABC didn't make just pockets sets for Gillette.

As for the knob, here's Achim's 1906-1908 British single ring showing similar knob:

i was very surprised at the price it sold for- and really can't find that much wrong with it. the green on the razor might indicated some plate loss; but wouldn't have thought that would have kept the price so low. very interesting regarding the knob. were they only on british made single rings.

I saw this one....didnt know what to think about it, the knob is cool but wasnt worth the money to me.
