Gillette HD 500 - little problems

I've bought a Gillette HD 500 Rocket some time ago and managed to clean it pretty good (it needs a bit of polishing to be in very good condition). However, there are a few problems I haven't been able to solve.

First, there's an uneven doors problem when the silo doors are closed. This happens only on one side (it's a bit exaggerated on the photo since I didn't wanted to tighten the knob all the way in order to make it clearer what I mean).

Second, the doors part slightly as the knob is tightened all the way down (same things happens with or without the blade).

Third, at some point when closing/opening the TTO mechanism, you can hear distinct metal scratching sound.

I believe I know what causes all these problems, but I'm not sure how to fix it (and what tools do I need). Here is a picture (notice how the end caps are bent inwards, especially at the left side where that tiny "bridge" which operates the left door is also bent):

Finally, there's a problem with silo doors opening. They open 2/3 of the way and then I have to open them manually (the mechanism feels like it has some gunk inside and at some point it becomes harder to open/close the silo doors). I've tried soaking the razor in hot (not boiling) water mixed with mild detergent but I didn't manage to solve the problem.

I know I can still shave with this razor, but I would really like to solve some of these problems before giving it a go. Any help would be much appreciated. :001_smile

Thanks for the confirmation of my theory guys. I appreciate that. :001_smile

Is there any way that I can fix this problem without damaging the razor?

you should be able to sort that out, put a small flat head screw driver in the hole (bottom left) between the door/base plate and end cap as twist is gently until the end cap is straight.

I had to do this on one of mine, the TTO was stiff as the side of the baseplate was touching the end cap half way through opening.
