Gillette Endcaps?

Anything you can do about missing end caps on Vintage Gillettes? Can you remove and put them back? Anywhere to get parts? How do you get them off, how would you get them to stay if you put them back? Thanks.

I have wondered the same thing, since on my Superspeeds they don't seem to be removable, and seem to be permanently attached to the butterfly mechanism.:confused:

The end caps are actually fairly easy to remove and replace. While they may appear to be permanently attached, they are simply welded into place. If you were wanting to replace a lost end cap all you would need to do is find a junker version of the razor with the cap needing replaced. Then, hold the junker's end cap area over a candle flame while applying gentle pressure with a screwdriver along the back edge of the end cap. Before long it will pop right off. Then, prepare the razor to be fixed by making sure any solder residue is removed. This can be done using the same candle trick. Then clean the surface of the area to be capped and the inside of the end cap and let dry. Next you simply use a quality epoxy and set the replacement end cap in place.
