Getting rid of razor bumps on neck

I know all the preventative products and techniques to stop this, but I get them frequently. What product is best after you have enflamed your neck? Witch Hazel seems to make it more red. I shaved last night and reapplied hazel this morning, and redness again. Do I just have to live with it and hope my next shave is better?

Try some cold water shaving, my neck used to get all red and bumpy and ever since i started using cold water, its felt great. It might take a little getting used to but it will be worth it, plus it wakes you up.

Use a minimally processed moisturizer. I use JASON 84% aloe vera moisturizer but there are others (e.g., Alba makes good products). These are designed to heal inflamed and damaged skin quickly.

I know this sounds odd, but I get ingrown hairs and related bumps and redness all the time. I have tried everything. The only thing that has really helped is.........rub some dry corn starch on the affected area, leave it on for 20 minutes, rinse it off with cold water, and then either pat dry with a towel or let air dry. It really works for me.

Using too much products in your prep or for your post shave routine might have a factor too. I found that using less for prep and post shave helped me out a lot. I used to use pre shave oils/creams and found that they didn't help. I also discovered that balms might be clogging my pores so I stopped using them. This method really cleared up my face and my shaves have improved a lot.

ever since I started DE albeit only a month ago, my neck has gotten so much better than it was with carts. I would get tons of ingrowns and redness with carts. What I did was beard mapping for sure and then start out only going WTG on neck. It won't be as close as you want it, but do that until the form and pressure issues get better. Then you add an XTG pass and never go ATG. My neck has never been better. I also do cold water shaving, Thayers AF Witch Hazel afterwards followed by a good moisturizer which could be Cerave, Unrefined Shea Butter, or Grapeseed oil, I change those around at times.

Shave is EJ DE89L with Polsilver super iridium blade, Prosaro products

Cold water shaving helped me. Also if you can I let my stubble grow for a day or two between shaves. That helped me a lot.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered some and this stuff is awesome. I do have one question. Do I use this as an ASB in my shave process, or before? Or do I just make a habit of using this frequently? I would hate to think I can't use my sandalwood cream and AS gels. :(

I'm trying to keep amount of products used to an absolute minimum, what i found works best is trusty old alum, i use it in stick form and it doubles as "crystal deodorant" aswell.

I just incorporate it in post shave routine. So after my shave I do a cold water rinse, then alum block, then thayers alcohol free witch hazel then, if i have any razor burn I would use a moisturizer. If I don't have razor burn I'll use AS splash or scented AS balm.

There are really a variety of ways to go about this and it depends on what you want. Don't hesitate to do some experimentation. If you do get bad razor burn then you're better off applying this product soon afterwards. You might also consider applying it before you go to sleep and when you wake up just to have the ongoing healing benefits of aloe vera. Since this product is a relatively mild scent I find it does not interfere with AS splashes or other balms scent wise. I would just put this down as a first layer and then use your sandalwood cream and AS gels on top.

I honestly get a lot less red bumps on my neck when I use a fresher blade and go very slow on that area. After 2 uses the blade dulls and gives me redness. Also, try adjusting the angle of the blade when you shave your neck. You might find that a new angle will help.
