Does anyone know if my GEM Demaskeene single edge razor from 1912 is brass with silver plate or is it stainless steel? Just wondering so I know how to clean and polish it the right way as the two materials require different care..

Pretty sure that they're plated brass. What they're plated with varies. I think most are nickel, some are gold or silver plated. I'm not sure if any are chrome plated or are Stainless.
Info on these is somewhat lacking, in comparison to the Gillettes. Maybe someone knowledgeable can chime in here.
