Gem - Blue Gunk?

Does anyone know why my Gem develops some blue gunk whenever I let it sit unused for a month or so? None of my other razors do this...

the blue can come from copper or brass rust, if its a greenish blue, its probobly that it needs a good cleaning and for you to dry it well after use,

Let's give the man a solution, shall we.

+1 to keeping it dry.

but, get some Maas polish and follow the directions exactly.

you will be amazed.

As mentioned, if there is exposed brass, then keeping it dry is key to avoiding further corrosion. A good tooth brushing with a Scrubbing Bubbles soak may get rid of the corrosion. Use a hard bristle tooth brush. Adding grit in the form of toothpaste may also do the trick.

If plating is thin though, I would think twice about polishing MAAS or Flitz (my favorite).

And don't put a razor away wet. Think of it as a vintage tool.
